Q&A College Rowing & Coxing 101 : Panelists

Because of your personal history with rowing, coaching, and/or coxing, we believe that your contribution to this discussion for high school athletes and their parents is unique. We’ll examine the realities of rowing and coxing in college, and the possibilities for a life in rowing beyond college. We hope that you are confident discussing some, if not all, of these topics:

• Your personal experiences as a collegiate rower, coach, or coxswain

• Seeking out and securing scholarships

• The recruitment process

• What to expect from a collegiate rowing experience

• Balancing studies and training

• U19, U23, Olympic/Senior National Team opportunities

The panel discussion will be held in the Titan Den at Alexandria City High School. The race day schedule is still being firmed up, but we anticipate a start time for this discussion around 10:00am or Noon, and it will wrap up within 45 minutes. We hope that panelists can make themselves available afterwards for a short while should folks have additional questions to ask you one-on-one.
